history of working in the construction industry. She has a breadth of knowledge and
experience which she has gained over 20 years as a building surveyor. She is the daughter

originated.
Vanessa studied at the University of the West of England achieving a BSc (Hons) Building
Surveying degree. Her career began within local authority and over 11 years she grew into
more complex and challenging roles including managing the Fire safety team. Vanessa then
became an elected Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in 2008.
In 2014 Vanessa made the change from local authority to private practice. This came with a
change of pace and variety of work fuelling her passion for surveying.
Following the birth of her third child Vanessa then took the leap and set up her own
independent practice in 2019. The new venture is allowing her to grow into the areas of
surveying she most enjoys whilst having flexibility with family life.
